James W. Rutledge burial or death information (11 or 12 Oct 1925)

Dear Okfuskee County Researchers,

My great grandfather, James W. Rutledge, last appeared in the U.S. Census in Okfuskee County in 1920 (dwelling 94-97). He was living with his second wife, Bessie, and five sons (Clyde, Avon, Everet, Ben, Chester). Living next door was his son Eliga E. Rutledge and wife (Zella). Also in town were three other sons with their families; these were Luther (wife, Teola; son, Alford), George L. (wife, Maud; daughters, Loys, Joy), and William W. (wife, Liz A.; daughters, Beatrice, Lola, Hazel). Beatrice subsequently married Leslie Anderson 07/01/1928.

My grandmother's notes indiate that James was born July 5, 1860 and that he died Oct 11 or 12, 1925. James was born in Stoddard Co. MO and lived in Ripley Co. MO prior to moving to OK, along with several in his family (including my grandmother and her husband, who moved to Okmulgee). We are seeking any available information about his death and would very much like to locate the place of his burial.

Any other local information about his children and/or their descendants would also be greatly appreciated.

Joe Crim
