Martin family farm

My gr gr grandfather lived in South Coffeyville in the late 1800s and early 1900s. John Buck Martin, though he went by J. B. Martin his wife was Izora Simpson Martin.
they owned a dairy farm. I have been searching for any books about the farming and history there, looking for any photos or stories about the family. A story passed down in the family was that some of the Dalton Gang used to hide in one of their barns. The Martins had a daughter Nancy "Lou" that married a George Gilbert and they lived on a farm next to or very near the Martins.
Also, John's mother Nancy Sater Martin probably living with him, died Sept. 11, 1897 (came from Hamlin Skinner funeral home records that I found on Kansas Trails Gen.)Wonder if there would be any records that old, such as death records, probate or newspaper death notice. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!
