I am doing research on Caroline Lowery who served as sheriff for a short time probably in 1936/1937 or 1937/1938.
Her husband was sheriff and died while in office in August 1936. As was the practice in those days, she was appointed to complete out his term.
Does anyone know the exact dates of her term as sheriff? Would the sheriff's office have a photograph of her and any biographical information? Would anyone who lives in Nowata County be willing to check this out for me at the courthouse.
Any information appreciated.
