Hi All:
My late Aunt Martha E. Borrowman nee STICKEL,
was born 11/29/1907 in Muskogee OK when it was still Indian Territory. Infact she is the first child of caucasion decent born there.
I am trying to find out about the trail of her parents, Fletcher Allyn Stickel,Jr.DDS and Lila Schofield Stickel nee Briggs. Lila's family arrived in OK for the Land Rush. Don't know when Fletcher got there.
His family was out of Hillsboro, IL and his father was F.A. Stickel,Sr.who was a Captain in the Civil War for the North. I only know about the birth of Aunt Martha in OK and that her parents Lila and "Allyn" Stickel were married in GUTHRIE.
Ring any bells for anyone? Can't find a trace of them in OK or their respective parents. Lila was a girl herself when she moved there.
She was 5-7 yrs old when she was in the land rush from my best guess. She was born in October of 1881 in Coxsackie, NY to Russell S.Briggs and Mary E."Minnie" Briggs nee Cummings. Left for OK from Poughkeepsie, NY I believe.
Please post and E-mail me if you have any information.
