Supposedly my great-great-great grandmother was a Cherokee Indian married to a Thornton. I don't have her name or the Thornton's first name but their son is James Louis (Carroll) Thornton. James was married to Minnie Drake and they had a daughter Gladys Estelle Thornton, my great-grandmother. Both James and Minnie died when my great-grandma was realitively young and so did not have much information to pass on. I am looking for James' parents and cannot seem to find them. James supposedly was born in Arkansas but I have yet to confirm that and I just learned that he possibly had Cherokee family in Oklahoma.
