This is an old post by B.Russie in Texas state genforum:
Looking for information on Zella Looney m. Joseph S. Maples aft. 1892 in Texas. d. abt 1903/04 in Arcadia OK.
Family history says that Zella's family came to Texas from Arkansas. She married Joe and the family lived in Texas and Oklahoma.
I have been unable to locate the names of her parents.
I too am searching for above info,Zella's
1st Clarence Hardy b: 1902 Lamar co,Tx
2nd Harvey Harry b: 1904 Okl City,Ok. (mine)
Zella died after the birth of
3rd child Elizabeth Maples b: abt 1905.
Maples story is Elizabeth went to her sister's family Ritter and raised as Tex Ritter's sister. But I found Tex's mother was a Mathews. So MAYBE they meant a sister to first wife Marietta Chaney's sister who married a Ritter.
Would love to solve this HUGE mystery.
