I have some information from the Grandfield Memorial Cemetery records. There is an Ed Thomas buried with no marker in Section C, Row 2. His death date is listed as March 9, 1962. He is also listed as owning another lot in Section C, Row 1. In it is buried a Coil Thomas, no stone, with a death date as 08/33/20. No, that is not a typo, at least on my part. That's really how it's listed. I suspect the data entry got scrambled, so the date is probably Aug. 20, 1933. The lot just to the north of this particular one has two adults buried in the spaces. The owner is listed as Thomas with no first name. Neither adult is named nor is a death date listed for either. That probably won't help you but maybe the rest will!
