Thanks for the response. Actually, I'm aware of the 1910 Pierce County, OR census. It is the best piece of documentation I have so far. One family report from years ago said that Nora and the children were separated from each other for about 10 years between roughly 1900 and 1910, and that the kids never saw their father again. I'm hoping to find a document connecting them to their parents. Have you heard of birth records existing in Oklahoma and Kansas 1890-1900? Since I don't know what county in Kansas, and have no idea if Nora, Albert and Grant were in Indian Territory or Oklahoma territory when the girls were born, I don't know where to search next! If I could just find something connecting them with their dad! George Lambert is their step-father. Any suggestions? Looks like they may have been cared for by the william Messnar family in 1900 in Gutherie county, IA, but I think those were not their parents. My family lore never mentioned them. In 1880, the messners and the days were listed on the same census page in Iowa. First names not entirely a match, but I'm thinking the families knew each other. So what can I do now for birth records or anything else? All seems guesswork before .....
Thoughts?
Barb
