Madill by W. J. BELL
MONTIE DILLINGHAM, who is at home on a furlough from Camp Travis, and MRS. DILLINGHAM are in Madill visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. JOE S. DILLINGHAM. They will return to Ardmore tomorrow where they will spend a few days before returning to San Antonio where Mr. Dillingham will report to his command.

REV. L. V. SHILLING of the Lebanon country was in Madill.

MISSES MAVIS WILLIAMS and ICY PRITCHARD of the Pioneer Telephone Company force returned from a short visit at Fort Worth.

HENRY MARSHALL and J. R. YOUNT left for Tioga, Texas.

ARTHUR USERY/USSERY of Woodville was in Madill on his way home after a ten day visit with relatives in west Oklahoma.

MISS RUBY PAYNE of Veasy, Texas was in Madill visiting her sister MRS. ROY LAMBERT.

M. SCOTT left yesterday for Miami. Mr. Scott sold his Madill residence to MRS. ED SACRA and as soon as he can be get a home in Miami, will move there. He will retain his store here.

MRS. T. H. BENTON returned from a visit with relatives at Denison, Texas.

MRS. ANNIE CARPENTER, who had been visiting her daughter, MRS. SAM R. OWEN, returned to Kingston.

DR. J. R. ROBINSON of Portie, Arkansas arrived in Madill to visit his brother, DR. P. F. ROBINSON and family. His daughter MISS IMOGENE who has been visiting in Madill the past few weeks will return home with him.

Mr. and Mrs. N. L. PHY of Boswell came to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. BURPO.

MRS. NANNIE W. CURTIS of Dallas was in Madill and made one of the best talks on the world war that has ever been heard here.

DOCK HARWICK of Kingston was in Madill yesterday.

MRS. T. NORTHCUTT and daughter HELEN went to Kingston to attend the high school senior class play.

MRS. LOIS KIRKPATRICK spent the weekend in Gainesville.

W. K. NEWTON of Victoria, Texas who has been visiting his brother B. C. NEWTON returned home.

MISS LOYD SMITH is visiting her friends MISS EARL CALLAWAY in Gainesville.

MISS WILDEAN BLACK is visiting her cousin MISS KATHERINE BROWN in Gainesville.

Mr. and Mrs. W. G. DAVIS and son are spending the week at Weatherford, Texas visiting his parents. They are making the trip in their car.

DANIEL RAMBO, bookkeeper at the First National Bank, visited in Fort Worth.

Mr. and Mrs. CHARLES BOYD witnessed the review of the 36th Division at Fort Worth.

MRS. J. W. SCALON returned from Hot Springs, Arkansas with her condition much improved.

MRS. W. C. MCCREARY was called to Thackerville yesterday on account of the illness of her sister, MRS. C. W. HATFIELD, who will be taken to Tioga, Texas for an operation.

Mr. and Mrs. L. W. BRAY were in Fort Worth.

MRS. M. A CUNNINGHAM of Gainesville returned after a visit with her daughter MRS. HORACE SCOTT in northwest Marietta.

MISSES LUCILLE LIDDELL and HAZEL TIPPETT are visiting in Gainesville.

MRS. ERNEST WOODS of New Wilson came to Marietta and accompanied her mother, MRS. C. P. LIDDELL to Fort Worth to witness the review of the 36th Division. Mrs. Liddell has two sons training at Camp Bowie.

DR. B. S. GARDNER received a letter from his son, THOMAS, who is somewhere in France. He letter was written March 3 and he is well and asks his parents not to worry about him as he is well pleased with his foreign home and surroundings.

MRS. T. J. COLESTON died at the family home in southwest Marietta at 6:30 last night. Mrs. Coleston has been confined to her bed for some time. At this writing, funeral arrangements had not been made.

MRS. CLINT ESKRIDGE has been ill.

MRS. CARL MITCHELL is visiting her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. CAD SOUTHERLAND at Farmers Branch, Texas.

MRS. J. R. SOUTHERLAND received word that her nephew who has been seriously ill with pneumonia at Camp Dick, Dallas is improving.

MRS. J. W. W. MITCHELL left Tuesday to visit her sister at Fort Worth.

MRS. DALLAS MELTON has aluminum cleaner Orona for sale. Telephone no. 20 and she will deliver.

MRS. H. L. KINSEY has returned from Oklahoma City where she visited relatives.

J. E. SOUTHERLAND is in Texas on business.

MRS. ARMSTRONG of Maysville was here.

MRS. EDITH RIGGERS went to Oklahoma City.

MS. TOM PERKINS is in Dallas to undergo an operation.

A crowd of high school boys and girls, chaperoned by MISS EUNICE COCRHAN, held a wienie roast Wednesday evening.

MRS. JAMES ELLIS of Davis was here.

The Atheneum Club held a called meeting at MRS. A. J. HOOVER’s home Wednesday to elect delegates to the 10th annual meeting of the fifth district Federation of Women’s Clubs to be held in Sulphur April 22 and 23. MRS. A. J. HOOVER and MRS. T. M. ESKRIDGE were selected as delegates with MRS. R. J. WHEELER, and MRS. FARANK COCHRAN as alternates. MRS. J. B. KIRVIN and MRS. EARL CRUMP will appear on the program from this club. MRS. CHARLES HENRY and MRS. MACK DEAL will be heard from the Matrons’ Club.

BERT ADAMS was here from Norman.

The following went to witness the review of the 36th Division at Fort Worth: J. D. DOUGHERTY, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. COCHRAN, Mr. and Mrs. JACK KENDALL, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. TAYLOR, Mr. and Mrs. P. R ESKRIDGE, Mr. and Mrs. WIRT FRANKLIN.

MISS BEATRICE, MISS BEULAH HUBBARD and MRS. LOUISE COOK of Elmore City were here.

MRS. SEARCY went to Oklahoma City.

Mr. and Mrs. SHACKELFORD are in Oklahoma City attending the state druggists’ meeting.

MRS. CHARLES ADAMS attended the Presbytery at Davis this week.

C. L. JAYNES of Idaho Springs, Colorado is visiting a sister, MRS. J. L. ADAMS. Mr. Jaynes is interested in gold and silver there.

DR. and Mrs. R. L. BAKER went to Fort Worth to witness the review of the 36th Division. Their son LEE is in training at Camp Bowie.

MRS. IRA MITCHELL and daughter ZULA MAE are in Oklahoma City.

Mr. and Mrs. ANDREW WILSON are now occupying their new home. Mr. and Mrs. LOUIS COLLINS have purchased the house vacated by Mr. and Mrs. WILSON.

Owing to the absence of the regular minister REV. J. H. CRAIN who is holding a meeting at Maysville, there will be no preaching at the Baptist Church tomorrow.

WILLIAM PERKINS arrived Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. PERKINS have taken rooms at the MRS. SLOVER’s and will be at home to their friends.

MRS. RALSTON of Lindsay is visiting MRS. CHARLES ADAMS.

MRS. JOHN JENNINGS left to visit her husband who is in the service and is now stationed at Augusta, Georgia.
