Will exchange information on my brother-in-law's family of PEETOOM. The first we know of them is that Cornelius PEETOOM was born 1835 in Amersterdam, Holland. He married Cornelia RUE (?) 30 June 1863 in Holland. We have a list of their children as: Peter, Cornelious, Tice, Jennie, Maggie, Richard, Katie and John R. PEETOOM. John R., was born 9 March 1871, probably in California, Moniteau County, Mo. He married Martha REED (born 28 August 1877 in Camden county, Mo) and they both died in Vinita, Craig county, Ok. Apparently most of this family moved to far northwestern Oklahoma because Cornelius is said to have died in Shattuck, Ellis county, Ok 21 June 1914 and his wife died there on 26 January 1922. Son, Richard, evidently died there also as there is talk that his estate was settled out there. John R and Martha lived there at one time, having oil leases there before coming to Vinita. Daughter, Katie, married George WILLIAMS and they lived in Tulsa, Ok in the 1950s and owned 2-3 blocks on South Peoria street which they eventually sold to a large grocery chain. Jennie is said to have married a WICKHAM and Maggie marrying a REED, but in searching the Social Security records, I find a Jennie REED and a Maggie WICKHAM who both fit in with birth and death dates as possibly these same girls. We would be very happy to find anyone who knows anything about this family. Will exchange.. Thank you.
