Mixed-Blood Cherokee Freedmen

I am seeking the descendants of Joseph (Joe) CARTER and his wife Angeline WILSON-CARTER. Joe was b. Mar. 1872 in Indian Territory, Cherokee Nation to Arch CARTER and Sarah LOWREY. His wife (my ancestor) was b. 22 Feb 1880 in Indian Territory, Cherokee Nation to Jacob Bart WILSON and Frances HILDERBRAND (my g grandmother). Joe died in 1958 and Angeline’s death date is unknown. Both are buried in the Four Mile Branch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Muskogee County, Oklahoma.

Frances HILDERBRAND and her progeny are descendants of Nancy WARD, a full-blood Cherokee Indian; Beloved Woman of the Cherokees and the last woman to hold that post in the Cherokee Nation. I desire pictures of Frances’ children to be included in a history of our mixed-blood Cherokee Freedman family.
