I, too, seem to have lost track of my CHASTEEN/AINs in McIntosh Co, OK.

According to Andrew Martin, son of John and Sarah Lena CHASTEEN-MARTIN (of Hanna), Sarah's father, John CHASTEEN, brought her and some of her siblings to Oklahoma around 1901 or 1902. John's wife, Laura, is believed to have died after June 14, 1900 (the date of the 1900 Census for Jasper Twp, Dallas Co, Missouri in which she last appears). Andrew said his grandfather brought his mother to Oklahoma when she was very young. John apparently died in 1907, and according to Andrew, is buried in the "Indian Section" of Weogufkee Cemetery. Andrew didn't know how his grandfather died, but was able to walk straight to John's grave, marked only with a red brick.

Other's may have accompanied them from MO to OK, but the youngest children were:

Andrew, b: Nov. 1892
Jesse, b: Jan. 1897
Sarah L., b: Oct. 1899

Other siblings may have already been in the area, but I've been unable to locate them, so the question is what happened to these children after their father died in 1907? Also, it would be very interesting to find out what happened to John, and why was he buried in the "Indian Section"?

I did find a Sarah, age 20, b: MO, with John E. Martin (42) and his sister (17), in Hanna in 1920. Since my info indicates she remained in this area most of her life, I feel confident in my find, although, it did raise other questions (i.e. What happened to John Martin's parents - three teenage MARTIN girls are listed, one as "sister" and two as "sister-in-law", in different households [one was a SELF family]? Why can't I find the other CHASTEEN children?).

Any suggestions or assistance is greatly appreciated.
