You are so right! You'd think that burials would be a matter of permanent records. And, funerals, also, but, I have found, most funeral homes have no records prior the current owners. Wouldn't you think churches would have a record of funerals, over the years? Most, that I've had contact with, don't have any records that go back more than the current few years.
