Today I found an announcement of James Wesley Pettigrew's death. I don't know if this could be called an obituary as he does'nt give much in the way of family or history of his life.

While researching in the OKLAHOMA HISTORICAL SOCIETY in Oklahoma City I found the following article.

From the Idabel Gazette - Jan 1, 1938 front page:

FUNERAL HELD FRIDAY FOR REV. J. W. PETTIGREW. Rev. James W. Pettigrew, 72, died Thursday at his home in the Honey Grove community after three weeks illness of bright's disease. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Honey Grove school house, Rev. H. A. Rhoten officiating. Burial was in Rock Hill cemetery under direction of Chappell Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters and three sons.
Mr. Pettigrew was a retired minister.
