Final Rites Held Thursday Afternoon At Seward
Funeral services for Mrs Laura Roberts, 59, Seward, were held Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock from the Seward church. Rev Orville Mills, Guthrie, officiated. Burial was in the Seward cemetery under the direction of the Davis-Owen Funeral Home.
Mrs Roberts died Wednesday morning in the Cimarron Valley hospital after an illness of several weeks. She has made her home at Seward the past 15 years, and was preceded in death by her husband, T L Roberts, two years ago.
Survivors are five daughters, Mrs Lillie Nevels, Mrs Mildred Decker, and Mrs Pauline Robinson, all of Guthrie, Mrs Stella Pickard, Seward and Mrs Marjorie Nevels, Hillsdale.
Two sons, Carl Roberts, Lawrie, and Lloyd Roberts, Seward; two brothers, Virgil Dutton, Phoenix, Ariz; and Doss Dutton, Tucson, Ariz; and four sisters, Mrs Mary Sizemore, Stecker; Mrs Jessie Foust, Bethany; Mrs Zella Henson, Willis; and Mrs Della McDonald, Ardmore.
I didn't find Thomas with the date you gave in the posting.
Laura's obit says he died two years before her, so I'll check 1940 rather than 1942 next time I go.
