Graveside funeral services for Aldon Lee "Jack" Langley, 85, of Guthrie will be held at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cememtery, in Guthrie, at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 25, with Gene Owens, Chaplain of Companion Hospice of Guthrie officiating.
Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Guthrie.
Jack was born on March 8, 1919, in Dover, Oklahoma to Robert and Elsie Langley. He died Thursday, October 21, 2004 at his home in Guthrie.
Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting and skiing. He especially like to bird hunt in the panhandle of Oklahoma at a friend's place with his son, Kenneth. Also, fishing with Lee, his brother-in-law and deer hunting trips with his brother, Francis. He like going to the lake on the weekends with his children and grandchildren. The first summer he learned to ski everyone teased him about needing three skis. By the end of that summer he finally stood up. He and his wife belonged to a C.B. club.
Jack is survived by his wife, Susie, of the home, and five sons: Robert, Lyman, WY., Raymond (Betty) Newalla, OK., Ronald (Darlene) Casper, OK., Richard, Newalla, OK., Kenneth Guthrie, OK., three daughters; Sue Kouts (Randy Bague) Guthrie, OK., Barbara Hooten (Danny) Meridian, OK. and Debra Martin (Bill) Johnstown, CO. Also eleven grandsons, ten granddaughters, thirty-nine great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters; Velda Mulkey, Junita Bishop, Leona Jonston, Barbara Golhaph, Evelyn Burkes and Francis Milligan. He is preceded in death by his parents, two grandsons, one great-grandson, sisters, Angline Bray, June Williams, Grace Baker and brothers Leonard and Robert Langley.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, October 24, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 8:30 a.m. until noon.
