I do believe you have found Roy W. Points. It is not unusual to find that an enumerator used the wrong surname for grandchildren, and even for step children.

Roy W. Points had a son named Lester W. Points. I found his obituary. It does not list his parents but the names of his survivors have given enough clues that I have been able to find more information, which should help you fill in more of the family charts. The obit is a subscription site and it won’t let me make a copy of it. I am 83 with a lot of arthritis in my fingers so I have written down the family information only. The obit does indicate he was a Mason and lists the lodges, and he was also a member of the VFW, so he was a veteran.

Lester William Points was born 16 Jan 1927 in Cement, OK. He died 26 April 1992 in Oklahoma City, OK. Survivors were: his wife, Bonnetta Points; son Danny Ray Points, OKC; daughter Debra Civick, OKC; sister, Millie Evon Zeller, Independence, MO; half sister, Violet Hinton, Mustang, OK; half brothers, Merle Marbut, Hanford, CA; Leon Marbut, Monett, MO; stepmother, Emma Points, Siloam Springs, AR; grandsons, Danny Ray II and Taylor Stuart Points; granddaughter, Carrie R. Craiger, OKC. He lived in The Village and his memorial service was held at Village Christian Church, where he was a member. (The Village is an incorporated town, surrounded by OKC. I lived there for 60 years before we moved to an apartment further north.) Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. It seems that Mildred and Evon were one and the same person, probably Mildred Evon, called Millie Evon.

Here is a big coincidence. Across the street from Village Christian Church is a Methodist Church where I have been a member for 60 years. As far as I know, I have not crossed paths with the Points family. His children probably attended a different school from mine.

Lester W. Points, age 22. married Bonetta Schultz, 18, on 6 June 1949, Benton Co. AR. His residence was Siloam Springs, her residence was Britton, Oklahoma Co. OK. (Britton was a small town, now surrounded by Oklahoma City. It is about 2 miles east of The Village where Lester and Bonetta settled.) I found this information through under Arkansas.

Mintie was actually Arminta Patton. She married Finis T. Marbut, 16 Nov 1902 in Barry County MO. I found the marriage information at the Barry County MO Genweb site, under marriages. The indexer read her name as “Muttie” Patton, so the handwriting was probably difficult to read. If you have access to census records you can find them in Barry County in 1910 and 1920. F. T. Marbut was still there in 1930 but is shown as divorced, so they divorced probably soon after the 1920 census. These families must have all known each other in Barry Co. MO, and Mintie must have known Roy, even though he was born in OK.

I must close now, but I do have further info to send. I do enjoy research and hope you find this helpful.
