Thank you for this info. I didn't know what brought them to this area.

Mary Frances Hayes married William Allison Smith/Schmidt on 21 Sep 1918. Wm. goes back and forth with using Smith and Schmidt as his last name. (He changed it from Smith to Schmidt.) In the census records his last name is Smith. In his WWI draft reg. card he lists his last name as Schmidt.

Mary died before 27 Oct 1918, where her family mentions her death in a letter on that date. She must have died after William filed his WWI draft reg. card since he lists her as his wife on 12 Sep 1918. His address is Rt. 2, Chandler, OK. So she died between September 12th and October 27th 1918.

Is anyone able to locate an obituary for her? Does anyone know where she is buried? Her nieces (Vina Hayes and Ruth Hayes) are buried in the Arlington cemetery.
