My great uncle Perry F. Smith was born in 1846 in Union County, GA. He was listed as one of the original landowners in Wellston. I know of one document showing him there as early as 1895. He is shown in the 1900 census in Lincoln County living by himself. He died in 1908 and is buried in the White Dove Cemetery in Sparks. We have heard rumors that he was the Sheriff there but don't know how to prove this. I also wanted to post this message to say that my email address has changed to breezer73@home.com. Any info is appreciated.
