Information about General W. E. Hardy

In doing extensive research about my daughter's ancestery, I have a lot of information but some loose ends. Does anyone have any specific information about the man known as General W. E. Hardy in the Civil War and who was appointed the Secretary of the Kaw Tribe for life. He married a women named Victoria (?) around 1960 and they had 7 children. Any info. about W. E.'s parent's names and Victoria's background would be helpful. She is supposed to be the daughter of Elizabeth and Joseph (I believe Charbonneau) and Elizabeth's mother was Indian and her brother was Chief Washungah. Any specific info. about these people will be appreciated. Also, I have the Kaw Indian Census for 1887 and Virginia and all seven children are on the Census with a number. Is this the same as a Roll Number?

I appreciate any information you can paroavide.

My daughter is adopted and her birth father was Tom Hardy a decendent of W. E. and Victoria through D. Warren Hardy one of their sons.

Thank you.

Ann MIruski
