William F “Bill” Beasley

William F “Bill” Beasley, longtime Ponca City resident, died Tuesday, June 4, 1996, at St Joseph Regional Medical Center. He was 71.

The funeral will be held graveside at Mount Hope Cemetery in Mankato, Kan, at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home. No visitation will be held at the funeral home.

William F “Bill” Beasley was born July 10, 1924, in Simpson, Kan, the son of W F and Nell (Burnley) Beasley. He grew up and graduated from high school in Beloit, Kan, and graduated from Kansas State University in 1954. Beasley served in the Army Quarter Master Corps during World War II.

On July 25, 1946, he was married to Norma Weaverling in Mankato, Kan. The couple moved to Ponca City in 1966. Beasley was employed with General Motors Acceptance Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1983.

Survivors include his wife, Norma, of the home; one daughter, Cathy Beasley of Ponca City; one son, Larry Beasley of Palatine, Ill; one step-brother, Cecil Wagner of Oklahoma City; and two grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, a half-brother, and one step-brother.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs [sic] Beasley’s name to Ponca City Firefighters, Thermal Imaging System fundraiser, c/o Ponca City Rotary Foundation Inc, PO Box 1782, Ponca City, Ok, 74603.

The family will be at the home, 1605 NE Cedar Lane.
