Kaw City is in the midst of their centennial celebration now. The city was nonexistant in 1891. Kaw City is in Kay County, Ingalls is in Payne County some 60 or 70 miles south of Kaw City. Quay, formerly Lawson, is about 40 or 50 miles south of Kaw City in Pawnee County. Pawnee County and Kay County were in the land openings of the Cherokee Outlet in September 1893. Ingalls was in the Oklahoma Territory opening in 1889, and a post office was located there in January 1890. There is an Oklahoma Territorial census taken in 1890 which covers only the central six counties of present day Oklahoma and Beaver County in the Panhandle. You should check that census to see if you can locate your ancestors.
