This isnt directly related but you might want
to check it out. My mother grew up in Mangum.
She remembers that some one tried to change the town name of Hester to Melton. Someone even put up a sign. But it didnt stick. She
remebers there being Meltons in this area.
Hester was a community near Martha. Its mainly farm land now. There was a church at one time there and a school at one time. Don't know if either is still standing. She doesn't know of these murders but she was born in 1930.
