Death notice and burial of Jeremiah Meador Whitworth 1902/03
Posted by: Janean Cleveland (ID *****2520) Date: April 13, 2007 at 13:30:35

Family records indicate that Jeremiah Meador Whitworth born Bedford Co, VA Oct 24, 1827 died in 1902 or 03 in Reed, Greer County, OK. Said to be buried in Reed Cememtery. Looking for confirmation of this info. IS Reed Cemetery indexed? Our guess is that he was living with a married daughter and her family because his wife was still living in Texas at the time.Or maybe he was just visiting and took ill. If there are obits from this era would appreciate knowing if they are searchable online? Whitworth was a veteran of the Civil War and was receiving a pension applied for in Texas. He was a private in Company D, 63rd Regiment Virginia Infantry, Confederate States of America. Enlisted in April of 1861 in Montgomery Co. VA. Location of his wife was Exray, Erath Co, TX. Any and all help appreciated. Thanks.
