Hello all! I'm researching my paternal family tree at the moment...the Carver surname. I have lots of information on this part of my lineage. I'm related through my grgrandfather Milton Carver from Granite. My grandfather was Arthur Carver (his wife was Clara Clark Carver). My dad is Chester Howard Carver and my mother is Melba Wright Carver. Many of my relatives are buried at the Rock Cemetery in Granite. Some are also buried in the Granite City Cemetery, Brinkman Cemetery, and Willow Cemetery. Anyone out there related in some way, Carver or otherwise? If so, give me a holler!!
I am interested in collecting information on my paternal grandmother's side as well. My Grandma Clara Carver's maiden name was Clara Rebecca Clark. Her father was Charlie Clark and her mother was a Bolen (I think she had relatives in Mangum). My grgrandmother died in 1964 and she and Charlie are buried at Willow.
My mother's side of the family: her father was Thomas Ruby 'Rube' Wright (his mother, my grgrandmother, was Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Sudduth Wright, his father was Edward Sherman Wright.) My mother's mother was Hallie Jane Hatter Wright. Many of the Wrights are buried at Brinkman. I'm not certain where the Hatters are buried, but some of my Hatter relatives were laid to rest at Willow.
I'd love to hear from some folks that know of my family. Few are left in Greer County...Wayne and Janie Clark, their son Mike Clark, and daughter Tammy are related to me. There may be a few still in Granite as well. I live in California and make it back to Greer County every 5 years or so. I was born in Mangum in June, 1951, but left Willow in 1954 when my mom and dad decided to move to California. We've been here ever since.
Let me hear from some of you out there.
