Greetings all I am looking for James (Jim) French born circa 1843 in KY likely in Casey Co. His parents were Mason French and America Higgins. Circa 1857 he was living in Illinois. In 1860 he was living in Marysville, Lykins Co. KS. After this he may have lived in MO. In 1870 he was liveing as head of the house in Richland, Miami Co (formerly Lykins), KS he had married Mary E Hymer (the spelling of her surname varies and I belive she was Osage or part of another tribe) and was living with her and their first child America.
In 1880 he was living in Greenwood Co. KS the following census shows his house hold includeing a second wife (Mary died) who was the 1/2 cousin of his first wife, and her sons.

John FRENCH Brother S Male W 26 KY Farmer KY KY
Jessie HYMER SSon S Male W 12 KS Works On Farm IN KY
Charles W. HYMER SSon S Male W 9 KS IN KY

after 1880 the trail goes cold and I have been unable to find any record of James family stories say he moved to "Pond Creek" Oklahoma (possibly in Indian territory) but I have been unable to find any record of him their because I don't have access to an 1890 census if you have acess to this census or ANY OTHER census not mentioned here inwhich he would have appeared please post the information.
