"Services Held Here Sunday for Mrs. Rebecca Rogers
Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca Rogers, a former Rush Springs resident, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. form the Southern Baptist Church, Rev. Joe W. Mosley, pastor, officiating.
Mrs. Rogers was born April 5, 1874 in Arkansas and died at 10:20 a.m. September 24th at a rest home in Sentinel, Oklahoma. Her husband, James W. Rogers, preceded her in death in the 1920's. They were united in marriage in 1894 in Barry County, Missouri and came to Rush Springs in 1910.
Burial in the Rush Springs cemetery was under direction of Callaway-Smith Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Bill Pendley, Bob Pendley, I.V. Wilson, Grover Spears, Roy Compton, and Howard Dryden.
Survivors include two sons, Laurence Rogers of Dill City and Ernest Rogers of Guymon; and one sister, Mrs. Bessie Glatthoar of Guymon."


From the Rush Springs Gazette, Rush Springs, Grady county, Oklahoma, Thursday, July 26, 1956.

"FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR W. ROGERS
Funeral services for George William Rogers, 60, were conducted Sunday, July 15 by Rev. J.B. Shinn in the Southern Baptist Church.
Rogers was killed in a car accident July 12 in Oklahoma City.
Music for the service included 'Beautiful Garden of Prayer', 'The Old Rugged Cross' and 'I Want Have to Cross Jordan Alone.'
George William Rogers, son of J.W. and Rebecca Rogers was born May 15, 1895 in Casville, Missouri.
He was married to Vera Pendley on August 6, 1919 at Chickasha.
Other survivors are his children; Darrell Rogers of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Gwendolyn Benton of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Mrs. Ramona Siveron of Columbus, Ohio; and Miss Coleta Rogers of Chickasha.
His mother, Mrs. Rebecca Rogers of Rush Springs; two brothers, Ernest Rogers of Guymon and Lawrence of Dill City.
He had two grandsons, Roger Benton and Darrel Rogers, Jr. and one great granddaughter, Shirley Rogers.
Mr. Rogers was converted and joined the Clumberland Presbyterian Church in 1916. He had lived in Rush Springs most of his life."
