I was in the Ninnekah cemetery today and found Cynthia Bell Ballard, 1870 - 1937, wife of S.W. Ballard. There is no stone for Sylvester but it looks like there is a well kept plot next to her. It outlined but no marker. The other Ballards in the cemetery are Emmett Ballard 1/27/1885 - 12/13/1997 and his wife Alice M. Ballard 2.28/1898 - 2/24/1996 and their infant son is next to Cynthia, Johnny B. Ballard, 1/20 - 1/30/1940. Also their is a Louis S. Ballard, 12/1/1909 - 3/19/1997 and his wife Catherine Ballard, 9/28/1907 - 7/6/1994. The olny obituary I have found so far is for Louis S. Ballard. It was found in the Chickasha Daily Express, Friday, March 21, 1997 page 2. "Louie Sylvester Ballard Funeral services for Louie Sylvester Ballard, 87, of Rush Springs, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 21, 1997, in the Rush Springs Southern Baptist Church of Rush Springs, with Rev. Alvin McConnell officiating and Rev. Elmer Whitehead assisting. Louie Sylvester Ballard was born December 1, 1909, the son of Clarence and Cynthia (Bell) Ballard, and died Wednesday, March 19, 1997, at his home in Rush Springs. Mr. Ballard had been a Grady county resident for most of his life. He married Catherine Marshall on June 16, 1932, in Alex, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 6, 1994." I think I can find the rest of the obits in the Rush Springs paper. I will look. Also I do know one family of Ballards that still live in Ninnekah. Notify Administrator about this message?
