I am the GreatGranddaughter of August Larchey, who pronounced his last name as Larkey.August was killed while working for the Railroad in Kansas in 1897. Family members indicated that there were no other Larchey family that immigrated with August.About a year ago my Aunt gave me a note from a Donna Mack or Mock who said that her father was Robert Larkey, who had lived in Enid and that they were related to the Larchey's of Ponca City. My Aunt knew nothing about this family.I tried to contact this lady, but my letter was returned.I have since found a wonderful contact on the Larchey's, who is not a direct descendent, but connected through marriage to the family of August' sister. This contact also mentioned that they thought that there was another brother.I have found in the 1880 census for Maryville, Nodaway Co., Missouri which is very questionable - Francisca Lerche (possibly the Mother), August (Son) 27, Angeline (not Adaline)(daughter-in-law) 21, and Joseph, (son of Francisca) 10 years old.I would appreciate any info that you might be able to provide.
