"Samuel T. Taylor
Funeral services for Samuel T. Taylor, age 55 of Enid will be a 2 pm, Thursday, October 5, 2000 in the Enid Seventh Day Church. Pastor Gilbert Green and Pastor Harvey Kornegay will officiate. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Sam was born March 28, 1945 in Holdenville, Oklahoma and died Monday morning, October 2, 2000 in Integris Baptist Health Center.
He graduated high school from Fort Stockton, Texas in 1963. Later graduated in 1971 from the Southwestern Adventist College in Keene, Texas with a Bachelors Degree in Theology. In 1990, Sam received his Masters Degree in Early Childhood Development and Education from Andrews University in Berrien, Michigan.
Sam was a wonderful husband, father, and an excellent school teacher. He taught for several Adventist Church schools throughout the United States. Sam was a first through eighth grade teacher in a one room class. He was employed by WalMart since 1997 in the Electronics Department.
He was actively involved in the Adventist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Sam also was an avid guitar player and taught himself this last year how to play the banjo.
Anyone and everyone who knew Sam loved and enjoyed him and his sense of humor.
On May 30, 1999, Sam married Dell Hobbs at the Enid Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dell; three daughters, Denise Burkhardt of Houston, Texas, Heather Weber of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Lisa Taylor of Grants Pass, Oregon; one son, John Taylor also of Grants Pass, Oregon; three step-children, Amy, Sean, Jack Hobbs all of Enid; also surving are two brothers, Robert and Randall Taylor; one sister, Jean Hudspetha all of Texas; three grandchildren, Eric Halen of Syoming, Kesandra and nathan Burkhardt both of Houston, Texas; and one step-grandchild, Skylar Hobbs of Enid.
His paretns and a niece, Penny Gray, preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer Division or through the church."
