Looking for Wrights descendents.

This is what we think that we know.

Levi C. Wright b.1823 E. Tennessee d. ? in TN married Margaret ? b. ? in Virginia d. ? in TN ?

RB supposedly came to Hunt County, TX from Millville, TN with two brothers. He would have been 21 in 1883 and married in 1887.....so it seems reasonable that he may have migrated between those years.

I have found Wrights in Lincoln County, but we do not really know how we might connect.

Children of Levi Wright

Martha Wright 1847
Matthew Wright 1849
Martha Wright 1851
Mary Jane Wright 1856
John C. Wright 1858
James Frank Wright 1860
Richard Benjamin (Benton) Wright 1862
Thomas Wright 1864
Joseph Wright 1866
Nelia Wright 1868
Robert A. Wright 1870

The information on RB's siblings came from my first cousin who found a very distance cousin in Tennessee a few years ago, but my cousin is not completely sure that it is the right Wright line.

What we do know about RB Wright and Olivia Quattlebaum's children:

Allen Ely Wright b.188? in Greenville, TX, married Alta Mae

Gertrude Wright b.188?. in Greenville, married L. Smith

T. C. Wright b. 188? in Greenville, married Eula B., died in Greenville, TX

Learh Wright b.1890 in Greenville, married Oscar F. Taylor died in Arlington, TX 1976
(RB Wright was living with Learh in Cleburne, TX when he died in 1934. My grandfather JH Palmer paid to have RB's body shipped to Wellington, TX for burial, but would not pay for a headstone. My father placed the headstone after he returned from WWII. Again, my grandfather would not participate.

William J. Wright b. 189(4)8? in Greenville, married Tennie Bel Harris in Leedy, OK in1901, died ?

Nora Wright b. 1895 in Greenville, married Leslie C. Ruthardt, lived in Canyon, TX for many years, died in Canyon in 1976. We are in contact with her children.

Ethel Wright b. 1896, died in 1915

RB and Olivia Wright moved to Leedy, OK during the OK land rush. They moved there with Olivia's father John William Quattlebaum, several of his children from his first marriage, and his second wife. Other Wrights from Hunt County may have also been part of the entourage. RB remarried after Olivia died (in 1915, eight years after moving to OK). RB abandoned the second wife and all of the children shortly after his second marriage.

My grandmother married at 14 in 1915 after her mother died. Within two years, the older sisters took in the younger children. My Aunt Neel went to live with my grandmother Verdie Pearl Wright Palmer when she was seven.

There may be children from RB's Wright second marriage or later escapades, but we do not have this information.

Verdie Pearl Wright (my grandmother) b. 1901 in Leedy, OK, married James Henry Palmer in 1915, lived in Quail, TX until 1942, lived in Lubbock, TX until 1959, lived in Halfway, TX until her death in a nursing home in Hale Center, TX in 1988, buried in Plainview, TX

Lois Wright b. 1904, married George Hall, died in 1927

Neely (Nelia) Beatrice (Berniece) Wright b. 1906 in Leedy, OK, married William Earnest Savage in 1923, lived in with my grandmother when young, lived in Spade, TX after she married, died in Littlefield, TX 1983. Aunt Neel and Uncle Earnest joined his father on a homestead ranch near the original Spade ranch. Her closest neighbor was 30 miles away. She talked about how lonely the first years were. We are in contact with her children.

Neoma (Nora) Wright b.1909, married Lonnie Morgan, died in 1923

Olivia Madison Quattlebaum Wright, b. 1870, in Hunt County, died in 1915 of TB and is buried in the Wellington, TX cemetery.

In the 1960s when I was a girl, we visited with Aunts Learh, Nora and Neel. All of the other siblings of my grandmother were dead by then.
