hey jackie, long time-no posts. lol

just saw ur posts for dewey co.

millard fillmore collins, son of james knox polk/mary frances (zachary)collins, son of achilles/rebecca (morefield) collins was one of the original founders of oakwood, ok in dewey co. it is recorded in the oakwood history book, that he was part of the 1st ok land rush.
i have lots of info on his family line.
great-uncle "fillmore" died in 1928 and is buried with his wife, martha caroline (lancet), in the Enid, ok cemetery.

i didn't realize that u were in hollister. wow, small world! my daughter graduated from the college there, a couple of years ago, and we were FREQUENTLY down there visiting her. plus my folks lived at pomme de terre, in hickory co. for several years, until 3-4 yrs ago when they moved up to independence. i would have arranged to meet u, had i realized u were there.

with recently moving to a farm, i have lots to keep me busy, so i don't get to do genealogy often, but am always looking when i get the chance. i am still looking for achilles collins' parents. any help there?????

anyway, good to visit with u. deb
