Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Hi Mary

I just received the following e-mail, if you would like the sender's e-mail address, I can pass it on privately.

Ron

"Hello,

I can't get to the message boards because there is a problem with the site. I can give you information on the Porter family. Charles Glenn Porter is my great grandfather. He married Lila Hastings who is also Stella's sister.

Charles Glenn died of a ruptured appendix. My grandfather says that he was at work trying to lift something too heavy for him that caused the rupture.

DG Porter (my Granddad) married Alta LaVera Christian 29 Nov 1936 in Oklahoma. I have the wedding picture from the Blunk Art Studios. They had two children, Charles Glenn Porter (my dad) and William Robert Porter.

If you tell me how much more information you want, I will be happy to help.

Jeanne Porter Chubb"
