Looking for information on Rufus P. Highnote and his wife Onie McCleary who left Navarro Co., TX circa 1902 and arrived in Creek County. They are shown on the 1910 census in Kiefer.

Rufus (R.P.) worked as a city marshal in Kiiefer where he was involved in the killing of two men (at different times) by the last name of Ooley. He is acquited.

He then moved to Carter County, OK circa 1915. Why?
What became of his wife, Onie? Did she die or did they divorce? Did they have children? None are shown on the 1910 census. At the time of the death of Rufus in April 1918 a newspaper article said he had married a few days before his death. To whom? Where is Rufus buried?

Any and all information appreciated.
