Will of James Wofford
State of Georgia, Cass County

"In the name of God-Amen, I, James Wofford, of said state and county, being of sound mind and disposing memory but knowing the uncertainty of life, deem it proper that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind providence has blest me. Do therefore make this last will and testament, hereby revoking all others made by me.

Item: 1st, I desire and direct that my body be buried in a Christian manner suitable to my circumstances in life. My soul, will return to rest with God through the merits of the Blessed Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Item: 2nd, I give to my beloved wife, Camilla Wofford, for fifteen years from this date all that part of land whereon James W. Wofford now lives not heretofore sold by me to Thomas J. Wofford for a home for my wife and all my single children including my widow daughter, Lydia Gaines, and after expiration of fifteen years to be sold by my administrator and divided equally between my wife and all my children.

Item: 3rd, I give to my beloved wife, Camilla, and all my unmarried children including my daughter, Lydia Gaines, for the space of ten years from this and after the expiration of said time to be equally divided between my said wife and all my children, my negro woman, Rose.

Item: 4th, I give to my beloved wife, Camilla, during her life a negro child named Katy, the child of Rose, and after her death to be sold and divided between all my children.

Item: 5th, The land and negro woman heretofore given to my wife and unmarried children for a term of years was intended for the benefit of my children as long as they remain unmarried and their interest in the same shall cease as soon as they shall marry.

Item: 6th, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Camilla, and my single children until they marry, all my household and kitchen furniture, including all my stock of every description and farming utensils.

Item: 7th, I give to my wife and children all the balance of my property both personal and real of every description not heretofore disposed of in ths my will to be sold and equally divided between them all, share and share alike.
