Lake Murray Dam
Posted by: jbw Date: October 22, 2000 at 18:52:15

I am trying to find where to write for the Lake Murray Dam Office in Ardmore , OK .

My g-g-grandfather settled near Ardmore, OK when he came to Oklahoma. His name was William Burch, he bought or received through the land rush , land there.

A family story is that when the government started bying up land to build Lake Murray, some of it belonged to William Burch. He then moved on farther north/northwest into the Maysville & Lindsay area.

I would like to find out if this story is true, only for family history purposes. Does anyone know if such records exist as to who owned the land that the government bought for the lake ?

I would appreciate any and all help ! Thanks , you can e-mail me direct if you wish at - tjwelch@neto.com - Thanks again.
