Hi Donna, In the 1930 Census, Robert A. Stokes states that he is married (no wife with him) he is a lodger, age 54, married, married at age 26, b. Mississippi, Father b. S.C., Mother b. Tennessee.(Notice that the parents birth places are different than what you have found so far).

Robert is working as a Salesman at a Grocery Store.
He was living on California Avenue.

No sign of Hester yet in 1930, I did try the name Eaton also.
