George Marvin Frey, Sr. (1878-1973), was the youngest son of my gggrandparents Martin Van Buren Frey (1836-1927) and Lucetta M. (Lucy) Rust (1837-1920), of TX. In 1899, George Marvin m. Eugenia Yocham in Hamilton Co., TX. As far as I can tell, they had 4 children, 3 of whom were b. in TX and 1 in OK. The couple settled in Choctaw Co., OK, where Eugenia d. in 1915, reportedly of pleurisy. Around 1925, George Marvin, Sr., m. Mattie (Mikeal) Whitson, who had just recently divorced her first husband, Wm. Arthur Whitson, in Jack Co., TX. Mattie had had 4 children with Whitson, and went on to have 3 more with Frey. George Marvin, Sr., d. on 15 Feb. 1973 in Hugo, Choctaw Co., OK.
Following is a tentative chronology for George Marvin Frey, Sr., based primarily on on-line sources. Information from Joseph Nelson and Trinda Zukosky was also particularly useful. It is hoped that other researchers will contribute additional findings in order to flesh it out. (To my knowledge, there are still Frey descendants living in the Hugo area, and I would also be pleased to make contact with them.)
