My grandfather was born on December 24, 1884. His mother's maiden name was Catherine Lewis. She married someone named George?? Sorrells after she and Ben Foreman divorced. Her father was Simon E. Lewis. She and Sorrells had quite a few children. I do have the Sorrell's family tree if you're interested.
My daughter found an article doing a Google search about a Ben Foreman who was married 4 times, but neither she nor I has been able to find it again. We also found an article about a Benjamin Franklin Foreman who was killed in a gunfight with Belle Starr's husband in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on December 25, 1886. I think this may have been my grandfather's grandfather. My mother told me a similar story years ago but I don't know which Ben Foreman she was talking about. There appear to be many.
I really don't know how we fit into all this; just that Ben Foreman was my great grandfather's name. Could be just coincidence. The Boswell connection is really strange though, isn't it?
I do not recognize the names of the family members you mentioned, except for Ruth. Understand these are just names I heard my mother and aunt talk about. They also spoke of Aunts Daisy and Anne and Uncle Ben, who were Foremans. They are all deceased now, but I have an uncle who is still alive. He wasn't much into family history, but I'll ask him what he knows.
By the way, there is a Ben Foreman "Pioneer of Indian Territory" born 6 Oct 1891; died 9 Sept 1943 buried in a cemetery in Chickasha, Grady Co. Okla. Daisy Foreman born 16 Sept 1898; died 7 Feb 1990 is buried in that same cemetery. I always assumed these were my grandfather's half brother and sister.
