Not related. Just trying to help.

Since I don't know your relationship to Samuel Lawrence Payne, I don't know what info. you already have but you might try some of the ideas below if you haven't already found what you're looking for. Best wishes on your search...Linda

1. If you know where Samuel died, try to get his birth/death certificate or his obituary. Go to the mortuary or cemetery that handled his burial and ask for information on him that they may have.

2. If you don't know where Samuel died or was buried then try getting his wife Minnie's death records. If she was the Minnie K. Payne listed in the Social Security Death Index - b. 12 Jul 1884 d. 15 Jun 1972 in Tulsa, Tulsa Co., Ok., then you might try to get an obituary for her. It should list her children/grandchildren which would give you a name of direct living descendants of Samuel's - possibly leading you to a phone number for one of them. Or try going to the mortuary or cemetery where she was buried and asking for information. Samuel may be buried there with her.

3. If you can't get a hold of Samuel or Minnie's information, then get their son Sequoyah L. Payne's obituary. He was b. 22 Mar 1911 d. 20 Mar 1995 in Tulsa, Tulsa Co., Ok. You might have a better chance of finding a direct living descendant of Samuel's who can tell you what you want to know going this route.
