Searching for information on Solomon POTTER who was from New England, He is believed to have taught at the Male Seminary in Cherokee County, OK. He moves with some Cherokee students to Butte County, California about 1849. I haven't been able to identify him in subsequent US Census records. I am interested in his students.. Who were they?? Why did they leave their home in Oklahoma and travel to California?? What happened to all of them??
