Thanks, Carol, for the information. I am not sure if this is the Andrew Couch I am looking but it sure is close. Andrew was born in Ark. in 1838; the 1870 Census says he was born in Texas in 1840 but the fact he had a child with him, John, b. 1867, and 1n 1880 he had a son John b. 1867 makes me think that this is him. He wasn't married until 1872 in Cooke Co., Texas. The 1870 Census says John was
born in Ark. I know that Andrew Couch served in the llth Texas Calvary during the Civil War and enlisted in Grayson Co., Texas (next to Cooke Co.) and was released in 1865.
I am not sure why he would be in Arkansas in 1870 and the people he was living with are not known to me.
