Margie,
I have cousins who live in Colbert, Ok. It was CALLED Colbert Station way back when. The ferry was there Off of "Old 75" (which is now called River Road). If you plan to go there, I'll get more specific directions for you. I can't find it now but I do have the name of a cemetery in Colbert. I'll try to find it later today.
My cousin, Thelma Rose Mead Crook, says the town of Mead, Ok. was named after her grandfather Sanford Minor Mead. He was married to Francis Elizabeth Kemp (3rd wife). The Mead name was intermingled with the Colbert name.

Regarding "uncle Rob and Aunt Julie",There was a Roberson Kemp (Chickasaw) who married Julia (I have her maiden name her somewhere).

Gotta' run...back to you later.

Jeanne
