Is "Surprise" the name of a town? The USGS has a historical name listing for a Surprise Post Office, but I didn't find a town by that name. Maybe there used to be a town by that name (?).

My great aunt wrote a poem for my grandfather (her brother) about their childhood in Beaver County. At the end, she listed "extra places, people, and things" that he would remember. On of the things she mentioned was Mountain View Cemetery. She didn't mention a "Surprise Cemetery" at all. So, maybe it had been renamed "Mountian View Cemetery" by the time they left (??).

Some other places she mentioned were: the Tiffin store, the Batman's and store, Hibbs Schoolhouse, Duck Pond Creek, Elmwood, and Beaver City.

Some people she mentioned were: Elick Montgomery's and Henry Tiffin's (both relatives), Dr. Buck Master, Wilkerson's, Carpenter's, Skinner's, Baggerly's, Cate's, Coberly's, Redimer's, etc.
