I just started my Simpson research. My grandmother Ida May Simpson Webb was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Simpson and Malisa Ann Hodge Simpson. Malisa died in 1906 in Mead, Bryan Co., Oklahoma according to death records. I don't know why she moved to Mead from Fannin Co., Texas nor if her husband Jeff was alive when she did. She may connect to your Simpson's, not sure. If you have any information I would love to hear it. My Simpson's had the following children: Ida May, Will E, Gus, and I think Ed, maybe I need to go back and look. I have not been able to find anything on the boys...I have heard rumors that they owned a buick dealership in Durant, but have nothing to sustain that.
Thanks for letting me share. My Ida May married Oscar Franklin Webb and they lived in Caney, Oklahoma. I don't think that Jeff Simpson was pleased as when I went to pick up the marriage license from Paris, Texas, it had written on it "Do not publish" by father. I wished I had listened closer to my father when he was alive and learned more about the Simpson family.
