Hey Barbara,
I am very familiar with Benjamin Allen and his sons. I believe Nesbit Allen was also one of them. Do you correspond with Walter Belt who has the "Benjamin Allen Team", email address research ?? I also am admin. of Allen and Related Families myfamily site. Would love to have you join with us. We are Allen's from all over. Some related/some not, but we try to be of assistance to each other.
There is also an ALLEN DNA project in the works and so far we have a descendant of Benjamin's who matches very close to descendants of David Allen, Jr. b1761 NJ, and Jonah Allen, b NJ who's descendants are in New Brunswick, Canada (moved there during/after the Revolutionary War).
I have never seen the name John listed as part of Benjamin's name before. Is this family tradition, or something you've found in Campbell County Records?
At one time I lived in Pendleton Co. KY, which was taken from Campbell. I didn't know about Benjamin back then or I'd have been at the libraries and courthouses locally researching him. At present, I really believe that he and Adoniram Allen 1734 NH-1838 Clay Co KY were brothers. You are probably aware that Benjamin and [prob.]wife, Mary NALL, had a son named Adoniram/Adniram, who moved to Bourbon Co KY. The younger Adoniram was made guardian of David's minor children.
my email is
Joyce, in OK
