Hi Richard:

Frank Atteberry married Martha "Ann" Bear. Aunt Martha was from near Iberia, MO. She taught school in several locations in the Atoka and Pittsburg Co. areas. Her obit is found at

She lived with my great-grandparents William & Sarah Goforth Atteberry in the Lehigh area (Coal County) while teaching. Her son, Orval, now deceased, wrote her obituary. She and Frank are buried in the old "Westview Cemetery" in Atoka. Her daughter Doris Atteberry Sanders, and granddaughter, Shelia Kay Sanders are buried in the Green Meadows Cemetery.

Also, my great-grandfather did not have a middle name "M".
His name was simply William. He married Sarah Goforth. They are buried in the Balls Chapel Cemetery west of Atoka in what I believe is the Plainview area. (Don't take that as gospel because it has been many years since I lived in the area, so I am not sure that Plainview is correct. The cemetery is correct.

There daughter's names are incorrect on the census. When I get the family information uploaded to my new computer I will advise the correct names. Another correction: William's father, also William was not born in France. He was born in KY. William, my g-grandfather, according to the 1850 Stoddard County, MO census, was born in IL. I have not followed up on that but plan a visit to IL soon.

Someone has posted information to the LDS site showing incorrect information on the twin daughters of William and Sarah Goforth Atteberry.

Hope this helps!!
