Leader, Sharp & Brewer Families
Posted by: Michele Cerra (ID *****8749) Date: April 16, 2002 at 21:59:30
  of 535

My mother was Gretta (Charlene) Leader
Tushka, OK
DOB 10/17/38

Her parents were James Charles (JC) Leader Jr
1/2 Indian
POB Unknown (Tushka??)
DOB Unknown (1918 - 1920??) He was younger than Millie
He was also incarcerated for a period of time before his death in the mid 50's.

Mildred (Millie) Sharp
Tushka, OK
DOB 7/22/16

JC's parents were James Charles Leader SR (full blooded Choctaw) & Margaret (Margurite?) I don't know her last name
They had only one other child Marie Leader Caldwell who married Jess Caldwell

Millie's parents were Homer Sharp and Verda Brewer
I think Homer was German and was raised in a german settlement along the Deleware.. I don't know if this was the Deleware River or somewhere in Deleware CO OK..

Their other Children were...
Jewel Sharp Morgan who married Charlie Morgan
Childen were Kenneth Morgan (Killed in 9th grade
when hit by a train)
Betty Morgan who married a man by the name of Carillo

Robert Sharp who married Louise Grimsley
Child Linda Sharp who married Bill Burton

Benton Sharp who married Lucille Grimsley (Louises sister)
Children were Jerry Sharp (Died at 17 from a brain
Larry Sharp

The other family memeber I'm aware of is James Leader SR's brother Otis who was supposedly a Code Talker, but I've not found anything to support that.

The Sharps owned a homestead off of W. Boggy Depot Road to the north. It was occupied by a member of the family until last year.

My mother was born in a house on W. Boggy Depot Road that I believe was torn down or burned down within the last 10 years.

The Leaders own a family cemetary plot on the LS Hill property on W. Boggy Depot Road.

I have recently found out that the family history I had always believed is nothing but a huge fabrication. I'd really like to know who my family is and know about them and things they may have done (good or bad).

I'm really interested in finding out about my grandfathers incarceration, and anyone who might of known him.
