I am searching for my GGGGrandfather James Devine married to Mary Lou Harlan or Lou Harlin, Dua. of Nelson Harlin(Harlan)Sr. son of John Harlin and Alsie McCoy of the Cherokee Nation. Both James and Mary Lou were born about 1820 in Georgia. Mary Lou of Cherokee lineage. James and Mary Lou are listed in the Indian Pioneer Papers in an interview with my GGGrandfather, Tom Devine and on Tom Devine's Dawes Rolls application as his parents. Tom/Thomas Devine and his descendants resided in and around Westville, Adair Co., OK (Goingsnake Dist. Indian Territory). My Greatgrandfather Joel Maise Devine is listed on Tom's Dawes application as are his siblings; Jackson, James, Charles W. and William. Tom's wife was Mollie Keith Dau. of Thomas Keith. According to Emmet Starr's History of the Cherokee Indians, A James Devine married Sarah Catherine Ray in 1866 and died in 1867. I am assuming that Lou died prior to 1866, possibly both died in Goingsnake Dist. Indian Territory (Adair Co., OK)
