I was hoping to find someone (?Adair Co. historian?) who might know anything about the shoot-out between the U. S. Marshals & Cherokee Indians at the Whitmire school house during the trial of Zeke Proctor in 1872? My two main interests are the EXACT location of this schoolhouse and where Johnson Proctor (Zeke's brother and 1st one shot) might have been buried.
